Opening a GPX file

Click the folder button in the left toolbar and choose a .gpx file from your computer. Waypoints and tracks load straight onto the map. Nothing is uploaded to a server — the file is read in your browser.

Adding waypoints

Click the pin button, then click anywhere on the map to place a waypoint. A form opens so you can enter its name, description and details. Drag any pin to fine-tune its position. Use the search box to find a waypoint by name, or any place in the world.

Tracks and elevation

Open the tracks panel to see every track in the file with its distance and elevation gain. The elevation profile shows the height along the selected track, and moving the pointer across the chart marks the matching spot on the map.

Map layers

Switch between OpenStreetMap, satellite imagery and Google layers using the tabs at the top. Your choice does not affect the data, only the backdrop.

Saving and exporting

Use the save button to download your work as GPX, CSV or TCX, print the map, or copy a share link that reopens the same waypoints and tracks.

Accounts and Pro

Create a free account with your email, or sign in with Google. Pro removes the download limits and supports development, at $1 per month or $12 per year.
